The One Within

During a writing retreat in 2020, while working on the first draft of my memoir, we were guided through a creative exercise involving intuitive collage and writing. What evolved feels more like something that revealed itself through me, rather than something I consciously created.

I am the one

…who has been here through everything.

I am the one who holds all of you in love.

I am the one who wanted to come here.

I am the one who chose all of it, including all the suffering.

I am the one who you can rest into and let all the things that don’t matter go.

I am all.

I am the one who said yes completely to marriage and love, no matter how hard it’s been.

I am the one who chose the path of motherhood and has cherished every minute of it.

I am the one who is arising now out of the dark times that we’ve been through.

I am the water of life.

I am the light in the northern skies.

I am the ocean in the southern seas.

I am.
